Where most memory care begins
-
The most common cause of dementia. Early diagnosis, including amyloid testing, opens the door to treatment, including anti-amyloid infusions.
- Medications for memory and thinking
- Kisunla and Leqembi infusions in our building
- In-office computerized cognitive tracking every 6 months
-
Memory or thinking changes that are more than normal aging but still let you manage daily life. Finding the cause early opens up more choices.
- Current treatments and risk reduction treatment plan
- Routine neuropsychological testing available to track long-term stability of thinking and memory
- In-office computerized cognitive tracking every 6 months
Holistic, evidence-based care
We also offer evidence-based holistic treatment plans for mild cognitive impairment, dementia, and Parkinson disorders, including lifestyle changes, a nutrition program, and natural treatments, used alongside standard medical care and chosen with your doctor.
Other types of dementia we treat
Each type of dementia has its own causes, symptoms, and treatments. Many people also have mixed dementia, meaning more than one cause at the same time, most often blood vessel disease together with Alzheimer’s disease.
Diagnostic testing
Memory problems have many causes, and some can be treated. Testing helps us find the cause and track changes over time.
-
In-office cognitive testing
Short tasks, done at your visit, that check memory, attention, language, and problem solving. Computerized cognitive testing lets patients with mild cognitive impairment or Alzheimer’s disease track how stable their memory and thinking are over time.
-
Blood tests
Blood tests to rule out reversible causes of memory problems, such as thyroid problems or low vitamin B12.
-
Amyloid confirmation
When Alzheimer’s disease is possible, we order an amyloid blood biomarker test, an amyloid PET scan, or a spinal fluid (CSF) test to confirm amyloid. These tests are done outside our office.
Anti-amyloid infusions
We offer Kisunla (donanemab) and Leqembi (lecanemab) infusions at the infusion center in our building for early Alzheimer’s disease (mild cognitive impairment or mild dementia) with confirmed amyloid.
- Not everyone qualifies. We review your testing, brain MRI, health history, and medicines first.
- Scheduled MRI scans watch for ARIA, a side effect that can cause brain swelling or small bleeds. ARIA often causes no symptoms, which is why the scans matter. Tell us right away about a new headache, confusion, or vision changes.
- Genetic (APOE) testing is recommended before starting.
